On November 20, 2018 the Michigan State Tax Commission issued an order that the City of Reed City is to conduct a complete reappraisal of all parcels to be completed in 2019 so the 2020 Assessment Roll had all parcels updated.
In response to that order, the City Council hired CSZ Services LLC out of Saint Johns, Michigan to conduct the reappraisal at a cost of $59,865.
CSZ Services has advised Reed City that they will be sending a post card to every parcel soon announcing that their firm will be conducting the reappraisal with a contact number for citizens to call if they have any questions.
As soon as weather permits, employees of CSZ services will be coming to Reed City to start the reappraisal. All employees will have highly visible identification and every employee will be on file with the Reed City Police Department.
The purpose of the reappraisal is to make sure that the information on file for each parcel is correct and up to date. CSZ Services will be following the guidelines and standards of the State of Michigan on how each parcel is to be reappraised so that each parcel has been completely updated for the 2020 Assessment Roll.
