BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS VACANCIES
It takes a lot of people to run a city. Besides the Mayor, City Council and City Staff, there are a number of Boards and Commissions made up of citizens who volunteer to serve their City. Interested Citizens are appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council to the Boards and Commissions.
The Reed City Board of Review currently has one Board member vacancy. The Board of Review is charged with revising and correcting property assessment values and has the same powers and performs duties as conferred by law according to City Charter, Section 9.9. The Board hears complaints from all persons considering themselves aggrieved by assessments, and, if any person or property has been wrongfully assessed or omitted from the roll, the Board corrects the roll in such a manner as it deems just. The Board of Review meets in July, December and twice in March.
The Reed City Zoning Board of Appeals currently has one Board member vacancy. The Zoning Board of Appeals is a quasi-judicial board with responsibility to hear and decide on matters concerning interpretation, administrative review, or a variance from the Zoning Ordinance.
